Jefe is an associate with Carters with a focus on charity and not-for-profit law as well as legal research. She brings prior experience in legal research and regulatory compliance with a growing interest in governance issues affecting charities and not-for-profit organizations. 

Jefe was called to the Ontario Bar in 2025 and previously, to the Nigerian Bar in 2008. She completed her work experience with Carters, as part of the Law Practice Program, in April 2025 and joined the firm as an Associate following her call to the Ontario bar in June 2025. Jefe holds an LL.B from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and an MBA with a specialization in Human Resources Management from Edinburgh Business School, Scotland.

Jefe’s volunteer experience with charities and not-for-profit organizations in Nigeria, Scotland, and Canada, combined with her background in regulatory compliance and human resource management, has given her a well-rounded perspective on some of the operational and governance challenges these organizations encounter. Through leadership roles and coordinating volunteer initiatives, she has developed a deep appreciation for the sector and a strong commitment to supporting the sector.
